I’m a DMV-native artist hailing from Waldorf, MD. Repping 301!
First and foremost I’d like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for ordering my steps and making my path straight daily. For I am nothing and can do nothing without Him!
Jamar received classical training in New York and is now based there. Being an alumni of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NY) ’22. Passion for the craft of acting wasn’t sparked until after high school. Despite being in church plays and productions as a youth. Those experiences playing with family & friends always stuck but never thought it to become a career. It wasn’t until his time with basketball came to a close, that the door was open for discovery and life to take its course. Leading to an interest for movies that hadn’t been before. Credit to Actors Roundtable for allowing him to hear practitioners’ processes on building character, their preparation and experiences as artists. Thus fostering a curiosity on what it is to truly be an actor. To seal the deal seeing Marvel’s 2018 film Black Panther directed by Ryan Coogler. Left an impact no film ever had. The scale, the world, the acting and representation to name a few aspects utterly inspired him.
He has found the theatre to be home. Having opportunity to grace many stages inside and out of NYC including Off-Broadway. The palpable energy created in the atmosphere nightly because of shared experience between audience and actor, is a feeling like no other. That’s not to say what can be achieved through the power of storytelling in TV & Film is appreciated any less. He is blessed to make contribution to the art form in whatever capacity possible. G2G!
